MILK -- NATURE'S NOT-SO PERFECT FOOD According to the U.S.D.A, nearly 40% of the food that the average American eats consists of milk or dairy -- that makes for one very lopsided food pyramid! * If you are the average American, today, from the combined total of milk, cheese, butter and other dairy products, you will eat 161 mg of cholesterol, the same amount contained in 53 slices of bacon. That will add up to the equivalent cholesterol in 19,345 slices of bacon this year and, by age 52, the same cholesterol contained in 1 million slices of bacon! * Milk is loaded with protein! 80% of that protein is casein, the same tenacious glue used to hold your furniture together, and the adhesive used to hold the paper label to a bottle of beer. Dr. Spock, America's greatest pediatrician, described casein as the primary cause of mucous, congestion and childhood earaches. * Cancer? There are studies that the dairy industry refuses to release- -evidence that are bigger secrets than any ever revealed by the cigarette industry. Thousands of things cause cancer, but one hormone that you naturally produce is the key factor in the growth of each human cancer, particularly breast cancer. There are millions of hormones in the animal kingdom, but only one hormone that is exactly alike between two species. That hormone is called insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) and is an exact match between humans and cows. The calcium in cows milk is basically useless because it does NOT have magnesium, which is essential for the body to use that calcium (those nations with the highest amount of milk/dairy consumption have the highest rates of osteoporosis... to go along with high rates of heart disease and other fat/allergen related diseases). MILK: 87% of milk is water. 80% of the protein in milk is casein... better used as a glue for furniture or to fix labels on beer bottles. This protein may, when added to all the other protein the average American consumes, atually help to LEACH calcium from ones bones... which helps to explain the high rate of US osteoporosis. IGF-1 is a normal part of ALL milk... the newborn is SUPPOSED to grow quickly! What makes the 40% of obese American consumers think they need MORE growth? They don't think anything about it because they are not told about it. Monsanto's Posilac creates additional IGF-1 in milk, almost twice as much per 12 ounce glass. Only twice as much (of a powerful growth hormone)? OK... try out some math. It takes TEN pounds of milk to make one pound of hard cheese. Now... that means that each slice of cheese from BGH treated milk has almost 20 times as much of this growth factor as a simple 12 ounce glass of milk. Pasteurization does NOT destroy IGF-1. If that process was truly effective, it would not have to be repeated several times just to reduce the bacteria before the milk gets to consumers. Where was this massive "milk is a must" before refrigeration, pasteurization and mass transportation? Back when cows gave only 1-4 quarts a day (while lactating) it was made into BUTTER! Now that those same cows have been tweaked and shot-up with Posilac to produce 50 or more quarts a day... almost all year long... it is suddenly (after many thousands of years) a daily "staple". NOT!
