Please Help Hawaii Ban Aspartame
By DrBettyMartini on February 9, 2008
To all physicians, victims and activist. Letters to Health Committee – (meets 8:00 AM Friday so timing is urgent)
Dear Physicians, victims and activists, we can really use your help because the House Health Committee meets 8:00 A.M. Friday morning in Hawaii. I’ve been told they will read the letters of testimony; if there are victims from Hawaii they can be there in person (Honolulu Capital). They need to be sent right away, because they won’t help much if they go out Thursday night. We only have a couple of days, and didn’t know it was going to be so soon.
You write the Honorable Rep. Josh Green, M..D., repgreen@Capitol.hawaii.gov , and Honorable John Mizuno, Vice Chair , repmizuno@capitol.hawaii.gov
The letter must have on it House Bill 2680, the room number #329, and 8: AM Friday. It should say at the top: “Please copy as committee handout for this hearing.” If not it won’t get printed and maybe not read.
Below is the whole Health Committee and it would be nice to blind copy them as well as myself (bettym19@mindspring.com) and the Honorable Rep. Mele Carroll (repcarroll@Capitol.hawaii.gov) There are just a few under my signature.
Many victims say they would do anything to get this off the market. This is the perfect time to tell your heart wrenching story and what aspartame did to you. So many families have been completely destroyed. For this bill to survive it must get out of this committee. Every single letter counts. If aspartame gets banned from Hawaii it can be used as a precedent. Whatever it takes, state by state.
Even if you live in another country it just shows the aspartame disease plague is global. Let the Senate House Committee see how people are suffering around the world so they will not listen to lobbyists, front groups and professional organizations who are funded by the manufacturers to defend their poison. If you’re diabetic bring that out, how its pushed on diabetics when in fact they know aspartame can precipitate it, keeps blood sugar out of control, destroys the optic nerve and interacts with insulin. They are very concerned about the diabetic epidemic in Hawaii and many have no idea aspartame (NutraSweet/Equal/E951/Canderel) is the problem. The same with obesity.
All my best,
Betty
