For the die-hard (literally) aspartame addicts and health care professionals who don’t mind using and pushing this poison, Mission Possible provides this handy excuse list to put down those who try to save a life. This is most useful for those who use the stuff and have trouble thinking up their own excuses, since mental confusion is one the 92 symptoms of aspartame poisoning.

The FDA Has Approved Nutrasweet

OMNI Magazine, 2/94, said 51% of drugs approved by the Fatal Drugs Allowed crew have serious or fatal side effects. FDA has received more complaints on aspartame than all other food additives combined: 75% of all complaints are against this one poison. In 1995 FDA tabulated 10,000 consumer complaints, listing 92 documented symptoms including DEATH, THE ULTIMATE SYMPTOM. For every victim who complains to the FDA hundreds more suffer silently. FDA cut off the complaint lines and told many to call the AIDS Hotline.

When the Godfather hires the District Attorney, expect acquittal. FDA Commissioner Arthur Hayes, who in 1981 approved NutraSweet over the objections of an FDA Board of Inquiry, subsequently went to work for Searle’s public relations firm, Burson-Marsteller, while he was under investigation for accepting gratuities.

The tests submitted to FDA by Searle were fraudulent. FDA toxicologist, Dr. Adrian Gross is quoted in the Congressional Record (1985b page S10826) “They lied and didn’t submit the real nature of their observations … and they did other terrible things, for instance animals would develop tumors while they were under study. Well they would remove these tumors from the animals.” (Without reporting them)

The stench forced FDA to ask the Justice Department to prosecute Searle. Sam Skinner was the lead federal prosecutor. Skinner was offered a deal he couldn’t refuse and switched sides to join Sidney and Austin, lawyers defending Searle. The case was never prosecuted as the statue of limitations ran out.

Coke and Pepsi Wouldn’t Use a Poison

The National Soft Drink Association opposed FDA approval of aspartame early on. The Congressional Record 5/7/85 printed 6 pages of NSDA objections.

“Aspartame is inherently, markedly and uniquely unstable … as the temperature increases, the rate of degradation becomes more pronounced … For beverages (with a pH of 2.5 to 3.0) kept at 104 degrees F for 20 weeks, less than ten percent of the original APM remained … soft drinks displayed at a service station may reach temperatures of 120 degrees F … the decomposition products of APM can readily exceed the quantity of APM itself in a short time.”

Then the NSDA discovered Aspartame is addictive and that folks will swig soda all day if it’s no-cal. The cash registers began to ring. So did the funeral bells. Three of the decomposition contaminates carefully not mentioned in the report are:

METHANOL 1 Ounce is fatal.
FORMALDEHYDE, embalming fluid.
DIKETOPIPERAZINE, a tumor inducing agent.

The NSDA report above says: “Aspartame has been demonstrated to inhibit the carbohydrate-induced-synthesis of serotonin. Serotonin blunts the sensation of craving carbohydrates and is part of the body’s feedback system that helps limit consumption of carbohydrates. Its inhibition could lead to the anomalous result of a diet product causing increased consumption of carbohydrates.” In plain English:

The American Dietetics Assn. Endorses It
